-Monk Style is a concept; the idea of canceling the delay in between a Move to Command, Slash, Block, Flip, and Dash to its limit while only wielding a sword at hand. The concept is also based off of the idea of going beyond limits. The Monk Style Family’s motto is quoted “Do not limit yourself. Go beyond limits” by Monk. And SenseofTouch’s personal favorite “Think outside the box”.

-What is Four Divine Gates?
-Four Divine Gates is specifically the four major techniques of Monk Style introduced to the public; Dragon Gate, Tortoise Gate, Tiger Gate, and Phoenix Gate.

-If Monk Style is based off of the idea of going beyond limits, then why are there Monk Stylers?
-Monk Style can mean two things; a concept and Monk’s personal and unique fighting style. The concept is an enhancement and an incorporation to Korean Style that follows the idea of going beyond limits due to the abnormal outcomes of the techniques. The fighting style is a personal preference and Monk’s personal style, therefore people who play using mainly Four Divine Gates play like Monk. ie. “Monk’s Style + Player” = “Monk Styler”

-Why don’t you guys just change the name Monk Style into “Monk Move” or “Monk Step” instead?
-The name “Monk Style” did not originate from a concept. It originated from the four major techniques now known as “Four Divine Gates” as a set and as Monk’s personal unique style. So literally it is “Monk’s Style”. But later SenseofTouch developed the concept that explains Four Divine Gates as well as everything else involved with it. Therefore he named the concept “Monk Style” not as a real style, but as a label; a name and a category. The name will not be changed.

-Is Monk Style based on a religion?
-No.

-Is Four Divine Gates based on some Japanese cartoon show(Anime) or a religion?
-No, Four Divine Gates is based on Chinese Martial Arts. Many Japanese cartoons borrow ideas from Chinese history and their martial arts. Due to the fact that Anime is so popular worldwide, many ideas they present are popularized internationally and may seem to have originated from Japan. Super action star, Bruce Lee, also popularized several ideas and martial art forms that were not invented by him, but he received most of the credit.

-Why does the sword freeze when performing some of the Monk Style techniques?
-It is called Animation Freeze. It is a freeze in the sword animation caused by full(or near full) speed cancellation of the delay in between a Move to Command, Slash, Block, Flip, and Dash.

-How many types of Animation Freezes are there?
-There are currently four different types of Animation Freezes.

-Does Monk Style require 3rd party programs?
-Absolutely not.

-Why not just make a step-by-step instructional tutorial rather than a whole guide?
-The purpose of a guide is to guide the reader to success and to allow the reader to understand not only how to perform the techniques, but to understand how everything works. Also, a tutorial of step-by-step instructions will not teach players some of the techniques, such as Dragon Gate, which requires some intuition depending on the hardware being played on. You just have to experiment and feel for what’s right, like performing full speed Void Step with sword and making it freeze.
