James Bond 007 AMV #13: All Time High (Ai Yori Aoshi)

Miércoles 28 Mayo 2008 @ 12:05 pm

An all-new intro and all-new direction that will take the phrase “Animated Music Video” to an all time high…if you’ll pardon that cheesy pun.The 28th of May was chosen as the launch day of “Season III” for multiple reasons…One being I needed time to get settled into a new job…The second was that I had to watch the anime version of this series, to see if it could stand up to my expectations for this video……And last, but not least, it was the date of birth of Ian Fleming, the creator of the most internationally popular fictional spy of all time…in 1908… It wasn’t my idea in the first place, to be honest. I just read it off his Wikipedia page that “Ian Fleming Publications” had commissioned author, Sebastian Faulks, to write a new James Bond novel in recognition of this momentous occasion. Now that I’ve gotten into enjoying the novels that inspired the longest-running movie franchise of all time, I wanted to show my respect and gratitude to him and his family through my efforts on “The James Bond 007 AMV Collection” by launching “Season III” on his birthday, alongside the new book “Devil May Care.”Now then, onto the actual description of this film.”Ai Yori Aoshi”…to this day, I still don’t know why I chose to get into this series…but I remember when I did……January 2004, I was browsing through the manga section of a local bookstore when there it was, the first volume…fresh out of the box and on display…and right then and there, I had felt something significant about it…like I NEEDED to read this series…And so I did…and I found it to be a sweet love story between the two main characters, who meet again after many years, under circumstances that could only be called “fate” but opposing forces on both sides would rather see this love undone…and so Kaoru Hanabishi and Aoi Sakuraba must overcome multiple hardships so that their love can flourish…meeting and making new friends along the way…As for the 1983 film, “Octopussy”, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen it in it’s entirety…but the theme song “All Time High” alludes quite a lot to the relationship that builds between James Bond and the main Bond girl Octopussy…and then all of a sudden, the ultimate purpose to have read “Ai Yori Aoshi” was clear…it went so well with the song in many instances that it deserved a part in this collection…When I had learned of the anime version’s existence, years later, I’d hoped that it would remain quite faithful to the original story, having already been disheartened by the “Love Hina” animated series…and from the first scene alone, I knew that J.C. STAFF had done it…During “Season I”, I got off to a rocky start with a less than enthusiastic reception of “Thunderball (Halo)” on Gametrailers.com…and even after the transfer to YouTube, over a year would pass until I made “Play Dead (DOA)” and continued onward with the rest…In “Season II”, I aspired to refine my techniques in character and lip syncing to the background song…and to finally make the transition to Anime subjects…So now, for “Season III”, the objective is become a little more faithful to the original material that these songs were written for…”James Bond 007″…and all the glamour, suspense, death, guns and girls that surround his everyday life On Her Majesty’s Secret Service…so you can expect to see a little more mature and explicit material in these videos. The previous seasons were targeted at younger audiences who knew nothing of Bond and his earliest adventures, despite using footage from long-time mature-rated videogames titles such as “Halo”, “Dead or Alive”, and “Resident Evil”…but now I’m planning to bring a little more sex appeal and violent themes for those who have followed both the actual Bond movie franchise as well as mine. You’ll see some pretty hot stuff in this one…and some that aforementioned gunplay in the next one…But until then, I hope you will enjoy “James Bond 007 AMV #13: All Time High (Ai Yori Aoshi)”Comments and thoughts are always welcome and constructive criticism is preferred.
